Fair questions
Do we have to replace our ERP?
No. We work inside whatever you run now, from a full ERP to a set of spreadsheets. If the system itself needs reconfiguring, we bring in a certified partner for that system and run the job with them. We don’t sell ERPs and we don’t reinstall them.
Who checks what the tool drafts?
A person on your team, every time. The tool drafts an order or a quote; your person approves it, fixes it or throws it out. Nothing reaches a customer or your ERP until they do, and you keep a log of what was drafted and what your person changed.
Where do our documents and drawings go?
Before we start, we tell you in writing which tools touch your documents and where they run. Your drawings and customer data are used for your job only and stay in your files.
Will you touch our machine controls?
No. We read data from your machines: run time, stops, part counts. We never write to them or change a setting; your people keep running the machines the way they do now.
Do vendors pay you to recommend them?
No. You’re the only one who pays us. That way we can pick any vendor’s tool for the job, or tell you a spreadsheet will do.
What if you disappear tomorrow?
Everything we build lives in your files and your systems, written down so someone else can pick it up. Your data exports to plain files any time, and there is no subscription you’re locked into. We also train one of your people to run it day to day.
How much of our time does this take?
About 3 hours of the owner’s time for an entry package. Your team gives us access to the documents or the machines and answers our questions; we do the rest.
What does it cost, and when does it pay back?
The first call is free. An entry package costs $2–8K, a fixed price agreed before we start. A pilot costs from $15K and is paid in stages. The entry package ends with a report that puts the loss in dollars, so you can see whether it pays back before you spend more.
Is this about cutting jobs?
No. The point is to take retyping and number-chasing off your people’s plates, so the people you have can do the work only they can do.
What if you find nothing worth fixing?
Then you’ll hear it from us, in writing. The entry package has a fixed price and ends with a written result either way: what we checked, what we found and what we’d leave alone. If a spreadsheet fixes it, we’ll say so.
Why not just hire an engineer?
Sometimes you should, and we’ll tell you. An entry package costs about what a month of an engineer costs you, and it ends with a written answer on where the money goes. If what you need is a full-time person, the report shows what to hire for.
