Deftwork is run by two founders. We fix the paperwork between your customers, your ERP and your shop floor, then the machines and the warehouse, ourselves or with vetted partners.

Why we do this
Most software sold to factories assumes an IT department, clean data and a year to roll it out. A plant with 20 to 200 people usually has none of those. Orders arrive by email and PDF, someone types them in, and downtime is written on a clipboard, if at all.
That is a normal place to start, not a failure. We would rather fix one thing that pays for itself than sell you a platform. If a spreadsheet does the job, we'll tell you.
The same two people from the first call to month three
There is no hand-off to a junior team. The people on your first call are the people at your plant, and the people who stay through the hard first months.
- One problem at a time, at a fixed price, with a written result.
- Tested on your own documents or machine data before you spend more.
- A person on your team approves every draft. Nothing reaches a customer or your ERP on its own.
- Your data stays in your files, and you can export it any time.
Some of the work needs a vendor or a licensed installer. We don't sell one brand: for each job we pick the tool that fits, choose the vendor or installer with you, run the project and stay your one contact until it works.
Where we work
We come to your plant: Sacramento, the Bay Area, Napa and Sonoma, Reno. Based near Sacramento. A day at your plant is part of every entry package, so we keep to places we can drive to.

What we won't do
Where we draw the line, so you know before the first call.
- No cameras on people. Cameras look at parts and machines, never at how someone works.
- No writing to machine controls. We read machine data. Your people change the settings.
- No new ERP. We work inside the systems you already have.
- No defense or military work, and no political or religious projects. We turn these down, whatever the size of the job.
- No payments from vendors. When we recommend a tool or an installer, you are the only one who pays us.
