Find where your plant loses money. Fix one thing first.
Everyone on the floor knows something is costing you: a machine waiting on material, scrap nobody counts, orders typed twice. Nobody has put a dollar figure on it, so nothing gets fixed first.
We spend a day at your plant and a week with your numbers, then hand you one page: the biggest losses in dollars and what to fix first. It’s also where we start on the shop floor.
What we do in 1 day on site and 1 week
You don’t need clean data to start.
- Before the visitA short call and a list of what to pull: orders, scrap and rework notes, downtime logs, whatever you have. Paper is fine.
- A day at your plantWe walk the floor with you and talk to the people who run the machines, enter the orders and ship the parts.
- A week with your numbersWe put the losses in dollars: machine downtime, scrap and rework, material, hours lost to paperwork.
- One page and a talkWe walk you through what we found and what we’d fix first. You decide what happens next, with us or without us.
What you get
- One page with the largest losses in your plant, each in dollars per year.
- What to fix first, and why.
- What each fix would take: time, cost and who does it, whether us, a vendor or your own people.
- The numbers behind it, in a spreadsheet you keep.
How we check it
Every dollar figure on the page says where it came from: your records, what we measured that week, or our estimate, marked as one.
- Where we can, we measure for a week: stops on your key machines, errors in your orders, scrap at one station.
- Where we can’t, the page says it’s an estimate and how we got it.
- We go through the figures with you before anything is final.
If a number doesn’t match what you see on your floor, we recheck it.
What we need from you
A day on your floor, whatever records you keep and a few hours of your time.
Access
- A day on your floor, with the safety rules and PPE you require.
- Someone to walk with us for part of the day.
Files
- Whatever you track now: orders, scrap or rework notes, downtime logs, material purchases. Paper and spreadsheets are fine.
Your people’s time
- Owner or plant manager: about 2 hours on the day and 1 hour for the results.
- Leads and supervisors: 15–30 minutes each, on the floor, during the visit.
What it costs
A fixed price and a written result.
Included
- The day at your plant.
- A week of work with your numbers.
- The one-page report and a talk through it.
- A price for the first fix, if you want one.
Billed separately
Nothing. We don’t sell equipment in this step. If you go ahead with a fix, it’s priced on its own, and any vendor equipment is quoted separately.
Questions owners ask
What if you find nothing worth fixing?
Then the page says so. That’s the point of a small fixed price: you find out before you spend on anything bigger.
Our records are on paper. Can you work with that?
Yes. Paper and spreadsheets are where most plants start. We count what we can in a week and mark what’s an estimate.
Is this about cutting jobs?
No. We look at lost machine time, material and retyping, not at how individual people work. What you do with the hours you get back is your call.
Do we have to buy the fix from you?
No. The page is yours. Some fixes your team can do, some need a vendor, some are ours. You choose.
Tell us where you think the money goes.
20 minutes, no pitch deck. We’ll tell you honestly whether a day at your plant is worth it.
We come to your plant: Sacramento, the Bay Area, Napa and Sonoma, Reno.
